Prep Time 20 Minutes – Cook Time 40 Minutes – Total Time 60 Minutes
Ingredients
→ Cookie Dough
2 1/2 cups plain flour, sifted
1 cup melted butter, browned
2 large eggs—room temperature preferred
1/3 cup white sugar
2/3 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
→ Filling
Generous 1/2 cup Nutella (add more if you love it)
→ Optional Topping
1/4 cup extra chocolate chunks
Instructions
Heat the butter in a pan until it turns golden brown, giving off a nutty aroma. Let it cool down completely before using.
Mix the white sugar, brown sugar, and eggs in a bowl until the texture becomes airy and light.
Add the cooled browned butter and vanilla into the egg mixture. Stir well to blend.
Slowly add the flour into the wet mixture, stirring just enough to mix. Don’t overwork the dough.
Carefully fold the chocolate chunks in so they spread evenly.
Line a pie pan with parchment or use a lightly greased pan instead.
Press half the dough into the prepared pan. Spread Nutella evenly over it, add the rest of the dough on top, and seal the edges. Toss extra chocolate on top if desired.
Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 35–40 minutes. Look for lightly golden edges and a soft middle.
Let it sit for 20 minutes before serving. Pair it with ice cream or a drizzle of melted chocolate for a treat!
