Ingredients
1 bag frozen French fries or 4 large potatoes, cut into fries
1/2 lb ground beef
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup diced red onion
1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions
Steps
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Bake the French fries on a sheet pan for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway until golden and crispy.
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Add paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.
Transfer the baked fries to an oven-safe dish. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar, then top with cooked ground beef.
Return to oven for 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
Drizzle sour cream over the fries. Add red onion, tomatoes (if using), and chopped herbs.
Serve the loaded cheese fries immediately.
Tips
For a vegetarian version, use black beans or meatless crumbles instead of beef.
Try different cheeses like mozzarella, pepper jack, or a blend for variety.
For extra crunch, broil the assembled fries for 1-2 minutes at the end.
