Ingredients
Calzone Filling
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
1 cup Alfredo sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Dough
1 package (16 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough
All-purpose flour, for dusting
Finishing
1 tablespoon olive oil, for brushing
1 egg, beaten
Steps
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the refrigerated pizza dough into a rectangle approximately 1/4 inch thick. Cut into 4 equal squares.
Place about 1/3 cup of the chicken Alfredo mixture in the center of each dough square.
Fold dough squares over the filling to create pockets. Firmly press edges to seal; crimp with a fork if desired.
Brush the tops of the calzones with olive oil. In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush the egg wash over the calzones for a golden finish.
Arrange calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer with space between each. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
Remove calzones from the air fryer and allow to cool for one minute before serving.
Notes
Ensure the calzone edges are tightly sealed to prevent filling from leaking during air frying.
