Classic Italian meatballs made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and herbs.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Shape mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Brown meatballs on all sides, about 5 minutes.
Transfer meatballs to a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
Serve hot.
Notes
Use fresh herbs for better flavor.
You can substitute ground turkey for beef.
Freeze uncooked meatballs for later use.
